MADILL, OKLA. – Martha Frances McGuff Rogers Wilson, 70, of Madill, Okla., passed away June 11, 2014 in Brooksville, Fla. She had moved there to tend to the care of her brother John Martin McGuff a USN, WWII Veteran.
We lost our dear, beloved Martha on Wednesday morning after an unexpected illness. Martha was preceded in death by her father, Martin Frances McGuff and mother, Bernadine C. (Fraser) McGuff of Bangor, and her loving husband, Ronald “Ronnie” Lloyd Rogers who was killed in service during the Vietnam War on 11 June 1967. Siblings, Catherine “Louise” Dow and Theresa B. Cyr.
Her legacy includes two sons, Christopher Lloyd Rogers and wife, Sandra Rogers, Gregory John Wilson, and six grandchildren, Tristen Ashley Salazar, Kelly Nicole Rogers, Kyle Christopher Rogers, Laura Kristen Wilson, Mathew Gregory Wilson, Courtney Nicole Wilson and many nephews and nieces.
Martha’s careers included positions with the FBI, Diamond International, and the Michelin Tire Plant in Ardmore until her retirement. She was a tough, no-nonsense, loving, kind and compassionate woman who dedicated much of her later years to the care and support of hospitalized community members and veterans. She was a Life Member and Gold Circle Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 4611, and a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at INTEGRIS Marshall County Medical Center in Madill. She was an integral part of our family and her community in Madill where she resided most of her adult life. She loved us and we loved her! She will be greatly missed by her family and friends across the nation.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, located at 14 West Francis St., Madill, OK. Mass will be officiated by Father Oby J Zunmas under the direction of John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK. Martha will be laid to rest beside her parents and her husband in Bangor, Maine where they will be together and rejoice with each other in Heaven. Following her Memorial Service there will be a reception for friends and family at the Best Western Event Center in Madill, OK.
