Sudbeck leads Bronco Junior all-star team to District 3 baseball crown

BANGOR, Maine — Casey Sudbeck pitched a two-hit, five-inning shutout to lead the Bronco all-stars by Brewer 15-0 for the District 3 Junior League baseball title Monday night at Mansfield Stadium.

Bronco of Hampden/Hermon advanced to the state tourney, which begins Saturday, July 19 at Mansfield Stadium.

Sudbeck struck out four and walked three for Bronco of Hampden/Hermon. He helped his cause with a double, three singles and four RBIs. Connor Magliozzi added a double for Bronco, which was aided by 10 walks and five Brewer errors.

Josh Pellegrino and Tyler Hersey each singled for Brewer.

Coastal 10, Calais 6

At Blue Hill, Harrison Walden allowed only one earned run while striking out four while Miles Brown and Connery Williamson combined for two innings of relief to give Coastal the victory.

Teague Smallage reached base 3 times scoring twice. Coleman Brown and Jed Sawyer each recorded two hits for Coastal and Teague Smallage scored three runs.

Calais pitchers Gavin Linsey and Amuwes Dana combined for nine strikeouts.

Ayden Arsenault notched two hits for Calais and Dana had a double.

D3, 11-12 all-stars

Lincoln, OT win

Lincoln defeated Bangor West 10-9 and Old Town beat Katahdin Valley 11-1 in the District 3 all-star baseball tourney Monday.

On Tuesday, Lincoln will host Holbrook and Old Town will host Houlton.

Legion baseball

Brewer 10, Motor City 6

At Heddericg Field in Brewer Sunday night, Logan Rogerson recorded two doubles, a single and three RBIs to lift Brewer by Motor City.

Brendon Moore chipped in with three singles for Brewer (4-3) and Chase Allen added a single, double and two RBIs.

Pitcher Jeff Weeks earned the win as he gave up only one earned run in six innings while striking out four.

Christian Mowrer sparked Motor City with a home run, double, two singles and two RBIs. Jackson Coutts chipped in with four singles and Tyler Neville added three.

We ask for highlights and stats for top players for both teams, with first and last names of the players.

Games should be reported the day they are played.

Coaches may also include a linescore which should include score by innings, total runs, hits and errors as well as pitchers and catchers.
