Waldo County to hold school shooting drill on July 19

THORNDIKE, Maine — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office and Waldo County Emergency Management Agency will hold a full-scale disaster drill at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Mount View High School.

The exercise will test the emergency response to a mass casualty incident resulting from a school shooting incident, according to a news release from the county emergency management agency. The purpose of the exercise is to demonstrate the ability of law enforcement agencies, fire departments and ambulance services to work together to quickly treat a large number of casualties in a high-threat environment, the news release stated.
