Hermon to fill school committee post in special election

HERMON, Maine — Residents will choose a new school committee member during a special election on Tuesday, July 8.

The position opened up in May when member Ron Sherman resigned. During the special election, voters will pick someone to fill the remainder of his term, which expires on June 30, 2016.

Candidates for the seat are Ted Harris and Tony Reynolds, according to Town Clerk Ruth Nickerson.

The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hermon Elementary School gym.
