LITTLETON – Douglas B. Opdyke, 58, died July 3,2014 at his home with his family at his side. He was born July 7, 1955 in Chester, England the son of Kenneth and Marcia (Whalley) Opdyke.
He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during Desert Shield. Douglas loved people, life, children and was a devout Christian.
Besides his mother of Ellsworth he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cynthia (Carson) Opdyke of Littleton. two children, Heather and her husband, Christopher Holliday and Aaron Opdyke, all of Jacksonville, FL; two granddaughters, Amy Nicole Hurte and Trinity Ann Benton and a great-grandson, Alijah Lorenzo Brown; two sisters, Pamela Marie McKracherne and Terry of Bangor and Suzanne Emily Burns and J.F. of Mt. Desert; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father and in laws, Kendall and Frances Carson.
Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Littleton Baptist Church where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with full military honors.
