Lucienne Levesque

MADAWASKA – Lucienne Levesque, 95, passed away on July 1, 2014 at a Frenchville health care facility, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Grand Isle on June 7, 1919, daughter of the late Jerry and Odile (Caron) Pelletier.
As a widow for most of her life, she dedicated her life to raising her fourteen children whom she loved very much. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved being with nature either picking berries, fiddleheads, talking to bears, or just working in her flowers or garden. In the long winters, she enjoyed quilting blankets, knitting mittens, socks, and slippers. She also enjoyed playing cards and telling many stories to whomever would listen.
She is survived by one sister, Aurore Pelletier Michaud; twelve children, Juanita Johnston of Cedar Rapids, IA, Joel Levesque of Apple Valley, CA, Joan Jones of Madawaska, Armand Levesque and his wife, Dora of Santa Cruz, CA, Claudette Hudson and her husband, David of Rothsay, New Brunswick, Roger Levesque and his wife, Leila of Falls Church, VA, Nancy Smith and her husband, Michael of Tucson, AZ, Alcide Levesque of Apple Valley, CA, Cecile Carnes and her husband, John of Elkader, IA, Yvon Levesque and his wife, Madeline of Madawaska, Allen Levesque and his wife, Lisa of Ventura, CA, Joey Levesque and his wife, Isabelle of Madawaska; thirty-wo grandchildren, forty one great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband fifty-eight years ago, Joseph Levesque; one son, Lucien Levesque and his wife,Florence; one daughter, Lucy Levesque Mathiews and her husband, Don; one grandchild, Russell Levesque; three brothers, Alcide, Patrick, and Merdrick Pelletier; one sister, Antoinette Pelletier Nadeau; two sons-in-law, Frank Jones and Larry Johnston; and one daughter-in-law, Judy Pennington Levesque.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Monday before the service.
