WINSLOW, Maine — Eight teenagers were charged with underage drinking offenses Tuesday night as police busted a party in the area of Bald Eagle Lane and Brown Trout Road.

Winslow Police Chief Shawn O’Leary said officers received a complaint shortly after 9:30 p.m. that a large underage drinking party was occurring.

O’Leary said the location for the gathering was difficult to locate, but at 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, officers located the party where eight juveniles were found at a private camp.

Police determined that all the teens had been drinking, including one who was intoxicated to the point where medical treatment for alcohol poisoning was required. O’Leary said the teen was transported to the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville.

All eight juveniles were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, while another was charged with allowing a place for juveniles to consume, and another with furnishing liquor to juveniles, O’Leary said.

The juveniles were released to the custody of their parents.
