Mary Kathleen “Kate” Gagnon

BREWER & BANGOR – Mary Kathleen “Kate” Gagnon, 74, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Born in Brewer April 23, 1940 to William and Helen (Murray) Gagnon, Kate grew up in Brewer and attended John Bapst High School. Although she sustained an injury at a young age that left her disabled, Kate never wavered in her faith nor lost her sharp witted sense of humor.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Anne Gagnon and her dear friends, Agnes Lawrence and Sally Paradis. She is survived by her sister Janet Tourigny and her husband Joseph, and her brother William “Bill” Gagnon and his wife Ida; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday July 3, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, So. Main St., South Brewer. A reception will be held immediately following for friends and family of Kate at the parish center. Donations in Kate’s memory can be made to Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 103 Texas Ave., Bangor or Beacon Hospice, 304 Hancock St, Bangor, Maine 04401. Kate’s family would like to thank them both for the wonderful care and dedicated compassion they provided her. Kate cared deeply for them all.
