Bernard T. “Terry” Morancie

DEXTER AND BREWER – Bernard T. “Terry” Morancie, 80, died June 30, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. He was born February 14, 1934 in Dexter, a son of Rose L. (Ganeau) and Bernard J. Morancie.

He attended Dexter schools, graduating in 1952, and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1953. He was assigned to Kessler AFB in Mississippi for radar training. He served at radar sites in Saratoga, NY, Armstrong, Ontario, and Charleston, ME. In 1957, he was discharged from Dow Air Force Base then went to work for the CAA (FAA) at the Boston Air Route Control Center as an air traffic controller. When he came home on weekends, he met Sallie, where she worked at Porter’s Rexall in Dexter. Terry retired from the FAA in 1983 and went to work for RecTech in Brewer. He also worked for the Brewer Police and Fire Dept. as a dispatcher for several years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Sallie (Robichaud) Morancie of Brewer; his son, Joseph Scott Morancie of MA and FL; a daughter, Teresa Rose Morancie of Bangor; two brothers, Ross Morancie and his wife, Mary of Dexter; and Wilfred Morancie and his wife, Carol of Ocean Spring, MS; several granddaughters; two grandsons, and one great-grandson.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Corinna Center Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Brewer Fire Dept.
