ROCKWOOD AND NOKOMIS, FLA. – Ellsworth J. Haggan passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on June 27, 2014 in Greenville. He was born in Jackman, Jan. 4, 1932 to Ellsworth and Helena (McIntyre) Haggan.
He graduated from Jackman High School and served in the Korean Conflict. Returning from duty he married Sheryl King and together had 4 children. He worked for Scott Paper Company for 33 years retiring in 1986 to pursue his greatest passion of fishing and hunting. He was a Maine Registered Master Guide for 24 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #94 and also belonged to the Moosehead Lake Fisheries Coalition. He was an avid Red Sox fan. While wintering in Florida he loved to golf; especially with all of his “golf buddies” from Terra Cove.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years Sheryl (King) Haggan, daughters, Rhonda (Haggan) Arey and partner, Jeannot “Hutch” Gagne, Heidi (Haggan) Dionne and partner, John Morency, Cassie (Haggan) McGuire and husband, John. Grandchildren, James Caron and partner, Crystal, Kevin Caron and wife, Dianna, Caitlin Arey, Colin Arey, Grady McGuire and great-grandson, Riley Caron. He is also survived by his special sister, Carol (Haggan) Worster and her husband, Edward. He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Brent Haggan, brothers, Wallace and Clayton Haggan.
Services will be held at The Holy Family Catholic Church in Greenville, 10 a.m. July 10, 2014. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Moosehead Lake Fisheries Coalition (MLFC), P.O. Box 100, Rockwood, ME 04478.
