Alston Bliss Deering

ORIENT – Mr. Alston Bliss Deering, 89, died Sunday, June 29th, 2014, at a Houlton health care facility. He was born March 28, 1925 in Orient, the son of Bliss and Vellis (Peters) Deering.
He was a graduate of Danforth High School, class of 1943 and was the past president of the Danforth Alumni Association. He lived his entire life in Orient, where he worked as a self employed trucker and carpenter. Alston was a 62 year member and past master of the Baskahegan Lodge #175, the Commandary and the Anah Shriners.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Daisy, and her 3 children, Barbara Gray and her husband, Colin, Linda Kinney and her husband, Alan and Everett Lee and his wife, Cindy; a sister, Alta Sommerville; s special nephew, Robert Sommerville and his wife, Kathy; several nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Marion Presley.
