Maine man indicted for allegedly sexually assaulting NH girl

By Liz Markhlevskaya, Foster's Daily Democrat

ROCHESTER, N.H. — A Maine man was indicted last week for allegedly engaging in a pattern of sexual assault against a young girl in Rochester.

Christopher Lunny, 42, whose last known address is in Springvale, Maine, is accused of sexually assaulting a girl over a period of four years, while the victim was between the ages of 5 and 9. The assaults occurred in Rochester, between August 2004 and August 2008, according to grand jury indictments issued at Strafford County Superior Court.

Lunny last week was indicted on five counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault. Because of the young age of the alleged victim, the maximum penalty of each charge has been raised. If convicted, Lunny could be sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison for each charge.

Lunny is scheduled to be arraigned at Strafford County Superior Court on July 2 at 9 a.m.
