Burglars hit Brunswick jewelry store Sunday night

By Beth Brogan, BDN Staff

BRUNSWICK, Maine — Brunswick police on Monday released few details about a Sunday night burglary at Day’s Jewelers on Bath Road.

Just before 8:30 p.m., Brunswick police responded to a call from the store’s alarm company alerting them to a break-in at the shop in the Merrymeeting Plaza shopping center, but officers found no one in the building when they arrived, Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said Monday morning.

Hagan said detectives investigated and found evidence indicating the business had been burglarized, but he declined to release any details about that evidence, what was stolen and whether or not police have identified suspects.

No arrests have yet been made as a result of the ongoing investigation.
