Bronco LL, Bangor softball all-stars record victories


HAMPDEN, Maine — Tourney host Bronco Little Little League beat Hermon/Levant 30-17 and Bangor/Glenburn topped Lincoln 12-2 in action at the District 3 Little League all-star softball tourney Friday.

Sara Economy and Eliza Murphy each recorded four singles and a double to pace Bronco LL. Camryn Neal chipped in with two singles and a double and McKayla Poulin added two singles. Poulin, Economy and Murphy each scored five runs and Neal scored three. Poulin was also the winning pitcher.

Cassidy Dupuy singled twice to spark Hermon/Levant while Jasmine Boulier and Leah Thibault-Myatt each added a single and three runs.

In the other game, Kelly Dicarlo smacked two doubles and scored a run to spark Bangor/Glenburn. Lane Barron added a single, double and three runs while Lily Smith chipped in with two singles and a run. Jenna Smith was the winning pitcher.

Bryn Weatherbee and Kayla Duhaime each scored a run for Lincoln.

Bangor, Lincoln win

At Hampden on Thursday, Bangor/Glenburn and Lincoln each picked up first-round victories in the District 3 Little League softball all-star tourney for ages 9-10.

Bangor/Glenburn beat host Bronco Little League 19-16 and Lincoln downed Hermon/Levant 17-11

Lane Barron singled twice and scored four runs to help Bangor-Glenburn prevail.

Kelly Dicarlo chipped in with two singles while Lily Smith recorded a double and two runs and Rae Barron had a single. Jenna Smith notched the pitching win.

Eliza Murphy doubled and singled to lead Bronco LL. Hannah Dinado added a double and two runs. Megan Deans scored three runs and McKayla Poulin and Camryn Neal each scored two.

In the other game, Adria McLaughlin recorded a double, single and two runs to lead Lincoln by Hermon-Levant.

Raegan Budge added a single and two runs for Lincoln. Bryn Weatherbee scored three runs while Libby Wyman had three and Erika Laduke had one.

Cassidy Dupuy singled twice to spark Hermon/Levant. Leah Thibault-Myatt added a single and two runs and Olivia Lancaster scored twice.

D3, 11-12 all-stars

Hermon 6, Hampden 5

At Houlton on Friday , Olivia Albert recorded the pitching victory and aided her own cause with a single, double and triple to help Hermon edge Hampden in the District 3 Little League softball all-star championship game for ages 11-12.

Hampden rallied with four runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 5-5, but Albert responded for Hermon in the bottom of the sixth when she slammed the ball off the outfield fence for the game-winning RBI double.

Megan Chamberlain and Breanne Oakes each added a double for the winners.

Emilee Ouellette paced Hampden with a triple and single while Molly McCluskey and Maggie Coutts each added a single.


D1, 9-10 all-stars

Ellsworth 12, Coastal 2

At Blue Hill, Ellsworth beat Coastal in the first game of the double-elimination tourney. Ellsworth’s next game is Monday at 5 p.m., while Coastal will play at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
