MONMOUTH, Maine — A man was killed in a two-car crash just before 11 a.m. Friday on Route 202, according to Monmouth police. A woman was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.
According to Officer Dana Wessling, a Lincoln heading north on Route 202 toward Winthrop crashed head-on into a gray Dodge minivan heading south toward Lewiston. The Lincoln crashed into a ditch across the road from TJ’s Pizzeria.
The male driver of the Lincoln died at the scene.
The female driver of the minivan was taken to Lewiston with serious injuries.
Police declined to release the names of the deceased driver or the injured woman until their families had been notified.
