Rockport planner to step down

By Stephen Betts, BDN Staff

ROCKPORT, Maine — Rockport Town Planner and Community Development Director Bill Najpauer will be leaving his post at the end of next week.

Najpauer worked in Rockport for a little more than a year after serving in the same capacity for Waldoboro for about a year and a half.

Najpauer is leaving for personal reasons, Town Manager Richard Bates said. He said Najpauer has agreed to provide some assistance with ongoing projects and the town is also negotiating with former Rockland Community Development Director Rodney Lynch to help on community development projects.

Najpauer succeeded Tom Ford, who served in the post for 13 years. Najpauer has received praise for his work and the town manager said the town is sad to see him go.
