AVON, Maine — A Mercer woman was impaled by a stick through her jaw Sunday when the ATV she was driving on a trail went up some rocks and rolled. She fell off and landed in some brush, Maine Warden Justin Fowlie said Wednesday.

The names of the woman and her passenger on the back were not immediately available.

The two were not wearing helmets, he said.
