BUCKFIELD, Maine — A Turner man is facing a pair of charges after an alleged assault on his girlfriend early Wednesday morning, according to state police.
The sequence of events leading to the arrest of Marcus Valencia, 31, began shortly before 7 a.m. when state troopers were notified that a woman had allegedly been assaulted while driving a vehicle, according to Lt. Walter Grzyb.
The woman reported to police that she had been assaulted by Valencia as she drove along Route 117 in Buckfield, according to Grzyb. She had pulled into the Buckfield Mall County Store, upon which Valencia apparently fled into the woods nearby.
A canine track was performed for over an hour, but Valencia was located along the bank of a stream and placed under arrest, Grzyb said.
