OLD TOWN, Maine — A botched drug deal late last month has led to multiple charges for a Milford man and his girlfriend, according to police.

The sequence of events leading to the arrests of Devin Jackson, 19, and Samantha Murray, 19, of Orrington started shortly before 5:30 p.m. May 31, according to Old Town police Capt. Kyle Smart.

Smart said Jackson and Murray were meeting up with a girl at the Circle K on Main Street for some sort of drug transaction.

It turns out Jackson and Murray ripped off the victim, according to Smart, as the pair drove off with an undisclosed amount of pills and cash with the victim partially inside their vehicle. Smart added Jackson allegedly pushed the victim out of the car.

“The victim was left at the scene with nothing,” said Smart, adding the cash was intended for the victim.

Police conducted interviews, and on June 2, both Murray and Jackson were arrested, Smart said. Jackson was charged with aggravated reckless conduct and assault while Murray is accused of aggravated reckless conduct, driving to endanger and assault, Smart said.

The pair were taken to Penobscot County Jail after their arrests.
