SOLDIER POND – Gilman F. Saucier, 80, died peacefully surrounded by his family June 8, 2014 at a Bangor Health Care Facility. He was born Nov. 26, 1933, in New Canada, the son of Arthur and Eugene (Bouchard) Saucier.
Gilman served in the US Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. Later lived in Ct for 20 years before moving to Soldier Pond in 1975. He was a member of the American Legion Martin- Klein Post # 133. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, ATV riding and most of all fishing.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Marilyn (Roy) Saucier of Soldier Pond; six children, David and wife, Janelle Saucier of Pittsfield, Lucy and husband, Alen Beaulieu of Soldier Pond, Karen and husband, Jere Renner of Spokane, WA., Allen Saucier of Terryville, Ct., Danny Saucier of Etna, Steve and wife, Denise Saucier of Norridgewock; six sisters, Beatrice Bossie, Rita Thibeault, Rena Pelletier, Lorraine Cyr, May Cyr, Lil Gorneault, and four brothers, Bill, Ken, and Roland Saucier; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Gilman was predeceased by two sisters, one as a toddler, and Adele Ouellette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with full military honors, 11 a.m. Friday, June 13 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Soldier Pond. Burial will be later in the Caribou Veterans Cemetery.
