Head-on collision in New Gloucester sends three to hospital

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — Three people, including a 5-year-old boy, were injured in a head-on collision Friday afternoon on Lewiston Road in New Gloucester. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said a car driven by Tina Dennison, 36, of New Gloucester crossed the center line and struck a truck driven by William Smith, 60, of Naples around 3:50 p.m. Friday. Smith and Dennison, along with Dennison’s passenger Christopher Hinks, 5, were taken to an area hospital with injuries that were considered non-life threatening. No cause for the accident has been released, and it remains under investigation.
