SCARBOROUGH, Maine — The Downeaster stopped Thursday night in the Scarborough Marsh after hitting a man, according to an official with Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority.

Firefighters say a man was fishing on a train trestle when he reached back to cast and the train hit his hand and arm. Firefighters say his injuries appear to be minor. Amtrak officials say the man was trespassing when the incident happened.

Some other trains also experienced delays because of this incident.
