DAMARISCOTTA, Maine — A New Harbor man was in critical condition at Maine Medical Center on Sunday morning following a crash on Biscay Road.

Deven L. Kear, 48, was traveling at a high speed when he lost control of a 1989 Chevrolet Camaro, rolled over and struck a tree, The Lincoln County News reported Monday.

Damariscotta Police Chief Ron Young said Kear and a passenger, Tucker Phinney, were extricated from the car and flown to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.

Kear was then taken by Lifeflight of Maine to CMMC in Lewiston, according to The Lincoln County News. Central Maine Medical Center had no patient by that name Sunday morning, but a spokeswoman at Maine Medical Center in Portland said Deven Kear was in critical condition.

Phinney suffered apparently non life-threatening injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Miles Memorial and then to Maine Medical Center, but was no longer listed as a patient at the hospital Monday morning.

“Alcohol was involved and charges may be pending,” Young told The Lincoln County News.
