Gertrude M. Rabideau

EAST MILLINOCKET – Gertrude M. Rabideau, 101, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at a Millinocket health care facility. Gert was born April 3, 1913 in Medway the daughter of Ivan and Myra (Thompson) Clark.

Gert grew up in Medway and attended a quaint one room school house. Later in life she took a home health nursing course. Gert married Harry McLaughlin when she was 16 and together they had 5 children. She was a great mother, wonderful cook, very resourceful, and an extremely generous person. She married Tony Rabideau in 1960 and together lived a quiet life. Gert was a member of Calvary Temple in East Millinocket. She enjoyed playing the piano, as well as to knit and crochet. She was a wonderful grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Gert is survived by her daughter, Elaine Lyons and her children, Donna Soper and husband, David, and Garold Lyons and friend, Patty Madson; son, Carlton McLaughlin and wife, Mildred and their children, Cheryl Scally and husband, Mark, Lisa Hull and husband, Stanley, and Gregory McLaughlin; son, Eugene McLaughlin and wife, Mary and their children, Gina Beaulieu and husband, Reggie, and Debra Dumais and husband, Réal, and Sean McLaughlin and wife, Mary; son, Dean McLaughlin and children, Catherine McLaughlin, and Laura Hewett and husband, Allen; and many great, great-great, and great-great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Gert was predeceased by husband, Anthony Rabideau, son, Garold McLaughlin; daughter-in-law, Roberta McLaughlin and brothers, Earl Clark and Denzil Clark; and a sister, Mildred Clark.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 28 at East Millinocket Cemetery with Rev. Regginal Adams officiating.
