PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police arrested a 71-year-old Revere Street man late Thursday afternoon after he allegedly pointed his rifle at his neighbor’s home.

Assistant Portland Police Chief Vernon Malloch said in a statement that at about 4 p.m., Juergen Bolte of 99 Revere St. was arrested and charged with terrorizing and threatening display of a firearm.

Officers had investigated a dispute between Bolte and his neighbor “only minutes earlier,” Malloch said.

Police returned to the site after a passer-by reported seeing Bolte “standing in his front yard pointing a rifle at his neighbor’s home,” the assistant chief continued.

“Police officers located Bolte sitting in bushes with the rifle. He was taken into custody without incident,” Malloch said. “Bolte did not fire the rifle, and no one was injured.”
