BREWER — Cassy Green singled twice and drove in four runs to help the Brewer Witches upset the Skowhegan Indians 13-12 in high school softball action Friday.
Brewer led 9-0 after two innings but the Indians began to chip away, scoring seven runs in the third and fourth innings.
Brewer added three runs in the fifth inning and an insurance run in the seventh, giving the Witches a 13-8 lead going into the bottom of the seventh.
Skowhegan battled back, scoring four runs and having two runners on base before grounding into the final out of the game.
Meg Davis earned the complete-game win for Brewer, helping herself with two singles and an RBI. Maddy Bailey scored three runs and gunned down a run at the plate from deep center.
Taylor Johnson led the way for the Indians with three doubles and a single, three runs scored and two RBIs. Mikayla Toth, Andrea Quirion and Emma Fitzgerald each singled three times.
