Paul Lloyd Blanchard

EAST MACHIAS – Paul Lloyd Blanchard ,76, passed away quietly at home, May 6, 2014, following a long battle with lung cancer.
He was a twenty year career veteran in the U.S. Army having served two tours in Viet Nam. He retired to East Machias in 1976 where he farmed hay and blueberry fields, harvested wood, worked a sawmill, and raised a little hell.
He is survived by his children and stepchildren, Deborah Day, Karina Richardson, Anthony Blanchard, Paula Carpenter, Kim Wall, and Allen Blanchard; siblings, Richard Blanchard , Jerry Whitney, Jane White, and Jean Manduca; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be greatly missed by his friends, Margaret Hinckle, Lyle Guptill, Bud Williamson, Eric Leighton, and Minnie (his faithful four-legged companion). He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd Blanchard and Marjorie Whitney, and a sister, Diane Ashley .
There will be an informal gathering for family and friends to share stories at Paul’s home, 313 Hadley’s Lake Road, from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2014. Those who can, may bring a light treat,
