Dorman Trader, 80, who had been missing since Tuesday, was located overnight in Ohio, his son said Thursday.

CALAIS, Maine — The search is over for an 80-year-old former resident who went missing while driving to Maine, his son said.

Dorman Trader of West Virginia left his home about 8 a.m. Tuesday and he was reported missing Wednesday when he didn’t make his planned stopover Tuesday night in Connecticut, said his son Richard Trader of Calais.

“Dad was found during the night in Ohio and appears to be fine,” his son said early Thursday in an email. No explanation for what happened was included in the email and efforts to contact Richard Trader were not immediately successful.

West Virginia State Police issued a nationwide alert for Trader on Wednesday morning.

Richard Trader thanked everyone who helped search for his father.
