ROCKPORT — Camden Hills Regional High School will be hosting a full day of lacrosse on Saturday, May 17.
There will be four home games, with both the girls and boys varsity and junior varsity teams playing throughout the day. In addition, free youth clinics will be held on an adjacent field, a cookout will take place mid-day, and a youth shooting contest will be held during the boys varsity half-time period.
“Lacrosse Day is a fun way to display the sport locally and to support the high school programs in particular,” said Thor Emory, an assistant coach at Camden Hills and the program director for The Pitch. “The sport is on the move here and it is exciting. We hope that the community will come out and enjoy the games, clinics, food, and fun.”
The first clinic begins at 9 a.m. and the first game begins at 10 a.m.
GUILFORD — Piscataquis County Club will open for the season on Friday.
Carts will be allowed if the course is not hit with more rain.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick tweeted Wednesday he is “glad the truth is getting out” in response to the 911 tapes released in the investigation in Miami involving a naked woman.
The woman who referred to herself as “Jesus” was the focus of two emergency calls placed April 1, according to 911 tapes released Tuesday.
Kaepernick wrote on Twitter:
“On 911 calls, I’m glad the truth is getting out. Info that came out earlier was totally wrong. I look forward to this matter being resolved.”
Kaepernick denied any wrongdoing when word of the occurrence because public. Miami police continues looking into what it terms a “suspicious incident,” not a criminal investigation.
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette and 49ers receiver Quinton Patton were also named in the original police report, made in the wake of an unnamed woman ending up in a hospital the morning of April 2.
In the first 911 call, a male caller who identifies himself as “security” says of the woman, “She said her name was Jesus, and she don’t have no clothes on.” He added that she was visiting one of the men in the room.
