Harpswell man injured in Brunswick motorcycle crash

By Beth Brogan, BDN Staff

BRUNSWICK, Maine — A Harpswell man was taken to Maine Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon after crashing his motorcycle on Harpswell Road near the Town Commons.

Nathan Kane, 30, was traveling north on Harpswell Road, also known as Route 123, alongside his brother Joshua Kane, 22, who was also on a motorcycle, when he lost control and skidded to a stop, Brunswick police Lt. Tom Garrepy said.

Garrepy said witnesses reported the two were traveling at a high rate of speed.

Joshua Kane “took evasive action” and drove off the roadway into a drainage ditch, Garrepy said.

When police and emergency personnel arrived, bystanders were attending to Nathan Kane, who was not wearing a helmet. A report on his condition was not available from the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Joshua Kane, who was wearing a helmet, did not require transport to a hospital.

The Brunswick Police Department is reconstructing the crash.
