‘Crazy’ driving, doughnuts lead to pair’s arrest in Washington

WASHINGTON, Maine — A teenager was arrested Monday night after allegedly driving drunk and a 47-year-old man who reportedly provided the youth the liquor joined him at the jail.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report that evening about a truck being driven fast and “crazy” up and down Crystal Lake Road in Washington and doing doughnuts in a field, according to a news release from Chief Deputy Tim Carroll. With assistance from Waldoboro police, deputies were able to find the truck and the occupants.

Brandon Maddocks, 19, of Washington was identified as the driver, arrested and charged with operating under the influence, operating an unregistered vehicle, and violation of conditions of release. Maurice Condon Jr., 47, of Belfast was arrested and charged with furnishing liquor to a minor.

Both were take to Knox County Jail in Rockland.
