Oral history gatherings

BUCKSPORT — The public is invited to the Buck Memorial Library series “Early History of Bucksport, Orland, Prospect and Verona Island” 2-3:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month through October. The next session will take place May 13, at the library.

Attendees share memories of town and family lore that have been handed down to them.

Each month librarians research a family for the library’s Memory Board.

Among the guests who will give presentations during the series will be Kathy Downes, Bucksport town clerk, and L. Donna Hoffmann, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. They will discuss how to gather family vital statistics.

Information about the series is available at the library or by calling 469-2650.
