LINCOLN – David Ronald Batchelder, 68, husband of Linda (Gray) Batchelder, passed away May 2, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1945 in Howland, the son of Irvin and Ethel (Berry) Batchelder.
Ronnie was an eight year veteran of the U S Army receiving the Purple Heart, Maine Silver Star Honorable Service Award, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He worked at Lincoln Pulp & Paper for 34 years. He attended Community Evangel Temple.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by a daughter, Robin Libby and her husband, Durwin Libby; six grandchildren, Dustin Libby, Jina Libby, Jonathan Libby, Daniel Libby, Deron Libby and Drew Libby; siblings, Muriel Curtis, Evelyn and her husband, Glenn Rideout and Gerald Batchelder and his wife, Lois; and his mother-in law, Pauline Cross; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Irvin Jr., Norman, Phyllis and James.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m Friday, May 9, at Lincoln Cemetery, with the Rev. Jason Johnstone officiating. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the American Heart Association. Those who wish may sign an online register and leave written condolences at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
