CASTLETON, Vt. — Alex Green tallied four goals and Zach Davidson posted three goals and six assists as the Castleton State Spartans earned a North Atlantic Conference semifinal win over the Husson University Eagles, 17-7 Wednesday.
Will Stuhler added three goals for Castleton State (12-5), which built a 7-1 first-quarter lead. Alex Denny added two goals while Peter Latulippe and Eric Horsfield combined to make eight saves.
Nolan Brown paced Husson University of Bangor (5-8) with goals and one assist. Vinny Visconti scored three times and Brandon Corbo added a goal. Eric Lund registered 11 saves.

At Henniker, N.H., Adam Shute (assist) and Sean Largay connected for three goals each in the Pilgrims’ North Atlantic Conference semifinal victory over the Mariners.
Skyler Saunders provided two goals and three assists and Pat Miles and WIlliam Pendleton each logged two goals and two assists for New England College (13-3). Chris Galluzzo made 15 saves.
Peter Moore led Maine Maritime Academy of Castine (7-7) with three goals and an assist. Bronson Guimond scored twice with A.J. Larrabee (assist), Chris Grant, Nicholas Betti and Brady Harrison chipping in a goal apiece.
James Wilgus came up with nine saves.
USM 6, Bates 4
At Gorham, seniors Matt Verrier and Troy Thibodeau combined to go 5 for 6 with three runs scored and three RBIs as the University of Southern Huskies defeated the visiting Bates College Bobcats.
The win was the fourth straight for the Huskies and improved their overall record to 28-8. The Bobcats dropped their second straight to slip to 18-14 overall.
Verrier was 3 for 3, including a double and his sixth home run of the season, with two runs scored and an RBI while Thibodeau was 2 for 3 with a run scored and two RBI.
Senior Griff Tewksbury sparked the Bobcats 12-hit attack with a solo home run, a double and three RBIs.
