ST. FRANCIS – Myrtle E. (Morin) Jackson, 89, Fort Kent, formerly of Allagash. On the morning of April 27, 2014, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Myrtle, closed her eyes for her eternal peace. She was born in St. Francis, Sept. 23, 1924, daughter of Guy and Mary (Deschaine) Morin.
She married Aaron Jackson in 1941 and moved to Allagash, where they lived most of their married life until his death in 1990. She is survived by five sons, Thomas, Denver, Co.; Guy (Norma), Presque Isle; George (Pam), China, Me.; Daniel, So. China; Matthew, Allagash; nine daughters, Brenda Bourgoine (John), Caribou; Esther Jandreau (Camille), St. Francis; Susan Michaud (Murray), Ashland; Anita Reid, So. China: Valerie Small (Jim), No. Vassalboro; Melissa Patenaude (Tony), Presque Isle; Joyia Cyr (Rick), Portage Lake; Virginia Graham (Chuck), Lacey, WA; Belinda Jackson, Waterville; daughter-in-law, Ethel Jackson, AL.; one brother, Edric Morin, two sisters, Laurine Jandreau and Bertha Michaud; plus many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents four sons predeceased her, Larry 1942, Loomis 1997, Terry 2011 and Joseph “Junior” on April 7, 2014, four grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters. She made her home at Crosswinds in her final years where she made many friends.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, and Friday 9-10:15 a.m. at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Committal services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 9 in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery, Allagash. In lieu of flowers, those who wish in Myrtle’s memory may donate to a charity of one’s choice.
