BLUE HILL – Charles A. Mitchell, 83, died April 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by family after a long illness. Charlie was born July 4, 1930, in Waltham, Mass., the son of Edward and Ella (Silva) Mitchell.
He graduated from Waltham High in 1948 then enlisted into the US Air Force where he was stationed in Texas, Germany and Turkey before retiring after 21 years.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Shirley (Clark) Mitchell, a son, Michael Paul Mitchell and his wife, Tereza from Brazil and three stepchildren, Stephen Williamson and his wife, Rena, Shirley Wheeler and her fiancé, Rory Kingsbury and Craig Williamson and his friend, Linda Beaulieu; five grandchildren, Leah and Robert Williamson, Dylan and Shelby Williamson, Dakota Eaton; and several nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his father, Edward, mother, Ella; three sisters, Laura, Edna and Ruth; three brothers, Andrew, Edward Frances and Robert; one stepson, John Patrick Herring.
