Mary Brett “Molly” Farrington Bidstrup

BYFIELD, MASS. – Mary Brett “Molly” Farrington Bidstrup, 49, passed away peacefully at home, April 21, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born in Portland, Maine, March 15, 1965 and was graduated from Bangor High School in 1983.
She majored in Art History at Wheaton College, graduating in 1987. A versatile athlete, she was a competitive swimmer and tennis player. Molly loved gardening, a passion she pursued both professionally and personally. She worked as a floral designer and an Associate of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, class of 2012. Her closeness to her identical twin sister, Ann Reis, was a blessing and benefit to both of their families. Her love of family and friends, kindness, determination, and positive outlook will always be a gift to us all. She lived an active family life in and around the Governor’s Academy community and spent wonderful summers with her family on Squirrel Island, Maine and Cape Cod.
She leaves her loving husband, Peter and children, Brett, Ann and Larsen Todd; her parents, Frank and Dare Farrington of Bangor; sisters, Ann Reis (Channing) of Hampton Falls, NH; Joan Guild (Edward) of Cumberland, ME; Katherine Farrington of Byfield, MA; Virginia MacMillan (Sean) of Bangor; and many cousins, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Moseley Chapel, The Governor’s Academy, 1 Elm St., Byfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Molly’s memory may be made to: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute “Attn: Dr. Philippe Armand Research Initiatives,” 450 Brookline Ave., Dana 1B30, Boston, MA 02115.
