Mattawamkeag River flood warnings canceled

MATTAWAMKEAG, Maine — Waters along the Mattawamkeag River have receded to a point where the National Weather Service has canceled flood warnings.

The weather service canceled the warnings for the river in northern Penobscot County shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The river’s stage was at 14.5 feet Tuesday morning, according to the weather service.

Water levels are expected to remain high for several days but flooding is not expected. printed on June 27, 2017
