AVON, Maine — A 56-year-old Franklin County man is facing multiple drug charges after a search warrant was conducted at his residence Friday, police said.

Daryl “Poochie” Searles, 56, is accused of aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs and unlawful trafficking in Schedule Z drugs, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols said.

Searles was taken into custody without incident after the search warrant was executed, Nichols said.

Sheriff’s deputies seized more than half a pound of processed marijuana, over 400 prescription oxycodone and hydrocodone pills, the sheriff said, along with over $100,000 in cash and firearms.

Searles is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail. If convicted, he could spend up to 20 years in jail on the charges of trafficking oxycodone and hydrocodone and an additional 5 years on the marijuana trafficking charge.
