SACO, Maine — A 21-year-old local man was arrested Monday after allegedly trying to sell an EBT card at a supermarket, police said.

Donchian Murray had tried to sell the card to an undercover detective in exchange for $35 in cash, Saco Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland said.

Murray’s card had a balance of $70 on it at the time of the incident, according to Holland.

After Murray tried to sell the card to the officer, Murray was taken into custody, the deputy chief said.

Murray was charged with trafficking of an EBT card, a Class D misdemeanor, and brought to York County Jail.
