ROCKLAND, Maine — The Regional School Unit 13 board is asking for public input on what qualities the next superintendent should have.

The board will hold a forum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of Oceanside High School East in Rockland to solicit suggestions.

Board member Marla McGeady said child care will be provided by students and pizza will be served to encourage a greater turnout. The high school students who watch the children will have that service count toward their community service credit.

“We want people to share their thoughts and ideas about what they want for leadership for the RSU going ahead,” McGeady said.

She said the reason for the meeting is not to dwell on the past.

Former Superintendent Lew Collins resigned Feb. 15 after months of division on the board. The board hired Michael Wilhelm to serve as interim superintendent through May.
