BRUNSWICK, Maine — A two-day investigation by Brunswick and Lisbon police ended late Friday with the arrest of a Bath man for kidnapping and assault.

Brunswick police arrested Patrick Ridley, 28, whose last known address was Bath. Ridley with was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and misuse of a public benefit instrument.

Additional charges are anticipated by Brunswick detectives, and more charges are expected as a result of Lisbon Police Department’s continuing investigation, according to a news release from the Brunswick Police Department.

Ridley’s arrest followed a regional manhunt. Police said Ridley was apprehended after he attempted to flee on foot when confronted by officers on Franklin Street in Brunswick. A short canine track led to Ridley, who was found hiding in a backyard.

Ridley was taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland. He is being held without bail.

Details of a domestic violence incident that precipitated Ridley’s arrest are being withheld, police said, as to not compromise the investigation.
