SIDNEY, Maine — Maine State Police on Thursday charged three people from Kennebec County with promoting sex trafficking after separate raids in Sidney and Litchfield.

The raids were conducted by state troopers and personnel from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Kennebec District Attorney’s Office, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a news release.

Summoned in Sidney were father and son Frederick Horne Sr., 46, and 19-year-old Frederick Horne Jr., McCausland said. The two are accused of running an escort service known as Adam & Eve at a house located at 2874 West River Road in Sidney.

Also charged with promoting sex trafficking was Gretchen Patrick, 51, of Augusta, who operates an escort service known as Sarah’s Place from a home in Litchfield. McCausland said.

McCausland said the two businesses are not related.

During the raids, police seized business records and interviewed several men and women, he said. The business records will be analyzed by investigators and additional charges could result.
