BANGOR, Maine — Local police are investigating a numerous amount of residential and vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
While Bangor police Lt. Cathy Rumsey did not disclose exactly how many residences or vehicles were affected, all the incidents occurred in the city’s east side.
“The common trend in most of these burglaries was that the suspect(s) entered the victim’s homes and/or garages through unlocked doors,” Rumsey said in a press release.
Items stolen include money, wallets and car keys, according to Rumsey, and in several instances, the keys were used to access vehicles parked in garages or driveways.
Homes and garages were entered via unlocked doors, according to Rumsey. In one case, a suspect found a spare house key inside a garage to access a residence.
Streets affected include Poplar, Grant and Maple Streets, Nowell Road and Judson Boulevard, the lieutenant said. Residents are urged to keep vehicles, homes and garages locked.
