BATH, Maine — A Bath man injured Friday in a motorcycle crash died on Saturday at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Alexander Coffin, 30, died at the hospital Saturday as a result of injuries suffered in the Friday afternoon crash, according to Bath Police Chief Michael Field.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Coffin was headed north on Oak Grove Avenue just before 2 p.m. Friday when his motorcycle collided with a southbound 2011 Kia Sorento driven by 46-year-old Debbie Knowlton of Bath, who was turning left on to Crawford Drive.

Knowlton was not injured.

Investigators found no immediate evidence that speed or alcohol contributed to the crash, Field said Friday, but detectives continue to investigate the incident and await results from blood tests, reconstruction reports and vehicle autopsies.

CORRECTION:

An earlier version of this story requires correction. Debbie Knowlton, not Alexander Coffin, was turning left onto Crawford Drive.
