FORT MYERS BEACH, FLA. – Sheila Burke See, 77, passed away March 28, 2014. Born in Millinocket, to parents, Frank and Jennie Burke.
Sheila worked in the lumber and logging industry as a bookkeeper. She lived in Palmyra, before moving to Fort Myers Beach. Sheila was a world traveler, a passionate genealogist, she loved to cook, was an avid reader with a large book collection She was a life member of the Maine Old Cemetery Association and the Society of Mayflower Descendants. She was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William See in 2005,as well as her sister, Ione McCafferty and nephew, James. She will be missed by her sister, Natalie, brother-in-law, Edward McCafferty; stepchildren, Dan and Nancy, Martha and Willis and Mark and Bob; grandchildren, Wesley and Tyler, as well as three great-grandchildren; several special nephews and nieces, Dale, Brian, Pam, Edmund, Zoeyvonne and Jesstina; along with several great nieces and nephew, and several great nieces and nephew once removed. She will be remembered dearly by her many friends and also missed very much by her cats, Delilah and Onyx.
Memorial contributions may be sent in her honor to the local ASPCA at www.aspca.org/donate or the Salvation Army at 10291 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33919. A Remembrance will be held 2-4 p.m. April 15, at Sheila’s home. Sheila will be interred with her late husband at the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
