BANGOR, Maine — A woman from the unorganized township of East Central Franklin was sentenced to 51 months in prison for robbing Western Maine Pharmacy in Kingfield.

During a hearing in U.S. District Court in Bangor, Michelle L. Wilcox, 28, also was ordered to undergo three years of supervised release upon completing her sentence and pay $1,153 in restitution, U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II said in a news release.

Wilcox pleaded guilty to the crime on Oct. 18, 2013.

Court records show that on June 3, 2013, Wilcox entered the pharmacy wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses and passed a note to a technician demanding all of the pharmacy’s Suboxone strips and stating she had “a weapon and will use it.”

Wilcox absconded with 85 8 mg Suboxone strips. A Franklin County sheriff’s deputy identified Wilcox from detailed witness descriptions and review of a surveillance video. Within hours of the robbery, Wilcox was arrested and allegedly confessed.

The investigation that led to Wilcox’s conviction was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine State Police.
