Game notes: Conditions permitting, coach Steve Trimper’s Black Bears make their home debut with a nonleague contest against the Division III Beavers. UMaine had last weekend’s America East series against UMass Lowell canceled by unplayable field conditions and has not played since a 7-6, 12-inning loss at UMBC on March 23. UMF, which lost both ends of a Wednesday doubleheader against Husson (2-1, 3-1), is in the middle of a busy stretch of games. The Beavers, who have lost 10 straight, are facing a three-game NAC set against Castleton State starting on Friday. The Bears are gearing up for a three-game home series against Hartford beginning on Saturday. Both teams are expected to split up the pitching duties among a handful of players.
