BREWER – William “Bill” Walker Jr., husband of Nilza Walker and son of William and Virginia (Coffin) Walker Sr., went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 29, 2014, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born Nov. 8, 1959, in Lincoln. He graduated from Glen Cove Christian Academy in 1978. He attended Messiah Baptist Church.

Bill worked for Hannaford Brothers for 34 years, but his real love was his scrap metal and foreclosed house clean out services that he started in 1996. At a young age, he began finding copper and brass to sell and discovered that he had a knack for selling just about anything.

Bill also loved fishing, four-wheeling and especially spending time at Royce and Louise’s camp at the lake with family and friends. Lord Brook in Grand Falls was his favorite place to fish with his son, Billy III, where they spent many happy hours catching trout.

Bill is survived by his best friend and wife, Nilza; his parents; his daughter, Betsy Migliore and husband, Vincent; son, Billy III and wife, Kaylin; and his granddaughter, Brynn, all of Brewer; his four sisters, Linda Dow of Livermore, Ellen LaClaire and husband, Phil, of Fayette, Louise Cross and husband, Royce, and Jill Bean and husband, Raymond, all of Brewer; and several nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by his stepsons, Italo Costa and Renan Costa; and a very special sister-in-law, Nadia Catto of Brazil.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME, 04401, in remembrance of Bill and his favorite feline of many years, Peek-a-boo. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at Messiah Baptist Church, 985 Union St., Bangor, with the Rev. Herman C. Frankland officiating. A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow. Cremation arrangements by Lamson Funeral Home. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.lamsonfh.com.
