WEST ROCKPORT – John Cecil Robinson, 74, passed away March 26, 2014, after a very courageous three and a half-year battle with cancer. He was born July 10,1939, to John and Sadie Robinson in Belfast.
After graduating from Rockport High School, John served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965 stationed in Korea. He was a member of the Silver Fox Dance Club and he had a great love and passion for dancing! Also he loved going to the fairs each year to watch horse and tractor pulling. While at the fairs he enjoyed looking at the antique tractors and his favorite fair food, which was fried clams and french fries. In the spring of the year he could be found following the Coast Guard icebreakers up the Kennebec River watching them clear the ice. He also enjoyed spending time at Rockport Harbor admiring the water and the boats.
